Become a GCN Supporter

GCN is a free, vital resource by the LGBTQ+ community for the LGBTQ+ community since 1988 and a registered charity with a not-for-profit business model.

For over three decades, GCN has been a key service, acting as a hub and striving to inform, educate, connect, platform, entertain and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in Ireland and abroad, and as such, it has had an immeasurable impact in the lives of countless people.

GCN relies on the generous support of the community and allies to sustain the crucial work that we do. Producing GCN is costly, and, in an industry which has been hugely impacted by rising costs, we need your support to help sustain and grow this vital resource.

Supporting GCN for as little as €1.99 per month will help us continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.

We know that not everyone is in a position to support GCN, but every donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Simply scan the QR code below, check out the different options available and consider donating what you can.

Thank you,

The GCN Team

Here’s how you can become a GCN supporter:

Why does GCN need your support?

Keeping GCN free of charge is central to our role as a community resource, ensuring we remain a fully accessible service, a place for the community to see itself reflected and celebrated while engaging in the real issues that LGBTQ+ people face today.

Since it was founded over 35 years ago, GCN has expanded from its monthly magazine to becoming Ireland’s free national LGBTQ+ press and a key resource for the community, which includes our news website, health & educational initiatives and campaigns, and live events.

As well as being a hub for every LGBTQ+ community organisation in Ireland that seeks to represent every queer event, group, artist, activist, and community worker in this country, GCN also continues to be a hand that reaches out to marginalised groups, those who are not at the heart of the action, who are isolated and need a connection to their community, fostering a clear sense of diversity and inclusion.

One of the ongoing events we co-host with our voluntary governing board, the National LGBT Federation (NXF), is The GALAs, which celebrates our community, particularly the efforts of individuals and organisations across Ireland who seek to make life better for LGBTQ+ people.

To sustain the vital work that we do, we run a variety of fundraising initiatives, including our much-beloved Big Fat Gay Pub Quiz, Eurovision Party, and our online store and merchandise line, which launched in 2021.

But with rising costs in recent years, which has more impact on a not-for-profit organisation like ours, we need your help to continue our work as Ireland’s free, independent LGBTQ+ media.
