I'm part Irish/American, heavily opinionated and snarky but I have a sweet side. Music, TV and writing are more or less my passions. I come from a big family and I'm joining this site because many people I know seem to be on it. People Who I'd like to meet: kind, considerate, funny, genuine, open minded and interesting. That's not asking for too much.

Lucky Thirteen

I've never been a big fan of House. For some reason, the series has never compelled me and as much as I like Hugh Laurie, I have to admit to finding the title character a bit much at times. For GCN however, there is a reason why I'm discussing the series and that's because of Olivia Wilde's bisexual medic, Remy "Thirteen" Hadley who in the episode that aired on 3E had a one stand with a woman who was diagnosed with LAM disease. Not only that but the episode also dealt with the character's recent reveal of Huntington's disease and she was dealing with this by excessively partying as a result. The sad part is that after nearly losing her job and just about losing a friend, neither of which are enough to stop the destructive medic from sleeping around.

Oh another bizarre attempt from the BBC with Krod Mandoon And Flaming Sword Of Fire. You've got Sean Maguire in the titular role looking all hunky, you've got the world's most inept of sorcerers, you've got a woman who'll use her sexual prowess for just about anything, you've got Bruce, the gay lover of the recently murdered General Arcadius who joins Krod's gang and then there's Matt Lucas as the villain from the piece. It's actually alright if you don't take it too seriously.

It's been a week and the new series of Big Brother still isn't that gripping. We've had a few exits, the typical reveals in the papers about certain housemates chequered pasts but it's all a bit stale. On the gay front, we do have Charlie (who seems nice enough) and Lisa (who's somewhat less annoying than the opening night) and maybe Rodrigo but apart from that, I'm seeing little that actually ignites excitement. Maybe this show coming to an end is best all round.

I have no idea. I'm not sure if any Irish station have bought it yet. Channel 4 are supposed to be airing it after FXUK are done with it.
