Celebs Respond To Golden Globe Protesters

Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet responded to anti-gay protesters at last night’s Golden Globes ceremony, calling them “idiots”.

"America is a great place, speech is free and you're able to expose the fact that you're an idiot," Stonestreet, who plays Cam on Modern Family which picked up the Best Comedy award, said of the protesters who assembled street from the site of Sunday's 69th annual Golden Globes.

Christopher Plummer, who picked up an award for his supporting role as an elderly gay man dying of cancer in Beginners, also responded to the protesters telling assembled journalists, "Gay characters are human beings. We're all exactly the same. Gays are part of our society and have been since the Egyptians, the Greeks; it is part of the human condition.

"I know there's an awful lot of anti-gay feeling right now, particularly at this moment, and I abhor it."
