Madonna: I Still Love The Gays
In an interview for US magazine, The Advocate, Madonna reaches back out to her gay fans.
The interview, written by Ari Karpel, explores the relationship between Madonna's gay fans and the most famous gay icon of all time.
Karpel maintains that in the US, gay fans felt abandoned by Madonna when she moved to England and stopped discussing LGBT issues.
"That's when bitching about Madonna became the great gay pastime,"
the interviewer tells the singer.
Madonna replies: "I never left them. When you're single, you certainly have more time to socialise and hang out with your gay friends, but then you get married and you have a husband and you have children, and your husband wants you to spend time with him. I'm not married anymore, but I have four kids, and I don't have a lot of time for socialising.
"I hope nobody's taking that personally. It certainly was not a conscious decision. As it stands, most of my friends in England are gay. But I'm back. Never fear."
