Log Cabin Republicans Support Palin

The Log Cabin Republicans - a gay group that endorsed John McCain and described running mate Sarah Palin as "inclusive" - today defended Sarah Palin, who this week said being gay is a choice.

Comparing Palin's "non-judgement" to that of other Americans, communications director Scott Tucker released the following statement:

“In this interview, Gov. Palin expressed her support for a gay friend of 30 years and reiterated that she doesn’t judge people. She said she’s ‘not going to judge Americans and the decisions they make in their adult personal relationships.’ Frankly, I think that’s where most Americans are in their attitude toward gay and lesbian people.”

Gov. Palin didn’t ramble uncomfortably about a ‘lifestyle’ or use the opportunity to reiterate her opposition to marriage for gay couples. She didn’t use the opportunity to express opposition to any gay rights legislation. Gay Democrats are pouncing on her use of the word ‘choice’ in talking about gay people…Again, I think that’s where the vast majority of Americans are on this issue-they simply don’t know whether people choose to be gay.

We know that people don’t ‘choose’ their sexual orientation and we’ll continue educating all Republicans about that issue.”

Feckin turncoat gays! Did they choose to be gay? Or just Republican?

The LCR are the most peculiar section of the Republican Party. I kind of feel sorry for them, I mean there are obviously genuine gay conservatives out there, except for them the main party of the right in their country is kra-zee. Still, the only reason they are endorsing McCain/Palin is because they endorsed Kerry/Edwards in 2004, and to endorse the opposition's candidate twice in a row would lose them any remaining shreds of respect they retain among the powerful of the GOP. Unfortunately this means they expect us to swallow this BS about choice. They'll have to wait a generation before anyone will take them seriously from either side, methinks.

Yeah, their credibility is non-existent at the moment, though being such a dichotomous organisation perhaps that will always be the case?

There is significant evidence out there which would say there is a significant genetic component and a certain biological difference to that which makes someone republican or democrat in America (or more specifically a socially liberal person or a socially conservative person). Please refer to: http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/dn14761-voting-republican-may-be-a-survival-response.html and http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/mg19726481.300-being-selfcentred-is-the-key-to-empathy.html So don't hate the conservatives : It is not a choice for them either!!

She cannot be vice pres - McCain could croak at any moment putting her in charge; a woman who had an affair with her husband's business partner and raised a hellion of a pregnant underage teen. On the plus side, her bionic vision that allows her to see from Alaska to Russia could come in hand if the cold war re-starts!

Hey asef, love your take on being born republican or democrat. My heart goes out to those misfortunate Republicans. And those LCR fuckers are the saddest of all. The fact that they exist fills me with gay shame.
