Jade ,Jade ,Jade ,Jade ,Jade!

I know the Editor has already written a bit on this a while back, but with so much media coverage, Jade is really the talk of the town. Although my heart does go out to her and her family am I the only person who's had enough? What happened to dying with dignity?

At the beginning I was glad she was creating awareness and although some people may not agree with her actions I think the money she created for her boys was a good thing. But that was about two weeks ago. A friend of mine told me that although she's on her death bed, she has a ghost writer by her side for a book that will be relesed after her death. There's also talks of a film.

Ok magazine paid over a million for their last ever interview with Jade. In it, photos of her boys clearly upset as well as Jade, who seemed quite unnerved about saying her last words publicly, who wouldn't . But it made me wonder, how much would they pay for photos of her funeral? Every photo that is printed, although may make money for her boys, will be a constant reminder to them that their Mother suffered publicly for a long time.

I'm sure everyone has heard the crap joke making its rounds regarding Jade and what little time she has left, but maybe there is some truth in it. With literally weeks and days left of her life, would it not be better time spent with her children leaving them letters and happy memories that they can look back on. Or an Ok magazine that has on the front cover "In loving memory of Jade", while Jade is still alive!

I'm also not a fan of the people cashing in on her. I mean Davina McCall did an interview saying she was upset and felt great sympathy for Jade and her family and they would be friends and how Jade will always be in her thoughts.... THE PAIR HAVE MET TWICE! I'm glad that Jodie Marsh has at least shut up.

Queer Duck

Heat has a cover in which Jade's friends remember her. They fucking can't wait for her to die, so they can sell more magazines. When she's gone, who will the next victim be?

Laura D, when people peddle their weddings and other aspects of their life in the media spotlight it's deemed to be acceptable - generally speaking. Why is it therefore deemed undignified to do the same with the 'illness and dying' aspect of ones life? Is it not glamourous enough, funny enough, positive enough? Death is part of life, but as a society we don't want to see or read too much about it. I for one had no time for Jade Goody until the past few weeks. In many ways I think her illness and death presented Jade at her most dignified. I also think it will do a lot in terms of promoting womens health. I was touched by her.

Hmm I reckon I always thought of dying as a private affair, I guess its as much a part of life as taxes, must be done. Jade publicising her death resulted in money being generated for her children and awareness for women pretty much world wide. maybe it was a good thing. i guess you;ve given me something to think about.
