I'm part Irish/American, heavily opinionated and snarky but I have a sweet side. Music, TV and writing are more or less my passions. I come from a big family and I'm joining this site because many people I know seem to be on it. People Who I'd like to meet: kind, considerate, funny, genuine, open minded and interesting. That's not asking for too much.

Portraits And The Like

Apparently I need to watch some more documentaries but occassionally finding some of them would be a fine thing. I've scanned through some of the Sky channels and I found Drawing The Line: A Portrait Of Keith Haring. At the risk of sounding like someone who's lived under a rock, I had no idea who the guy was but the documentary was certainly informative and doing some reading up on the fellow, he was quite an interesting guy and seemingly a pivotal person with the New York street culture scene during the 1980's. Well, they do say you learn something NEW every day, so colour me impressed.

As much as I like to try and avoid reality TV, even I get sucked into them every now and then and while the new series of The Apprentice is seriously lacking in the Katies, it's still better than most of what airs on a Wednesday night. An interesting comment was made on The Apprentice: You're Fired by comedienne Jenny Eclair that the show's only gay candidate Howard Ebison was sort of letting the side down due to his more laidback nature. Other people have critiqued the guy for being more mousey during the boardroom moments as well. I suppose after doing an ad for Pantsman the cereal, you'd probably want to keep a low profile as well. I don't really mind the guy but I suppose he is a little here nor there.

Well, The L Word has gotten past the halfway point in it's last season (I still can't believe that Living2 are airing this relatively early, well for them anyway) and it seems that every week someone else wants to kill Jenny. Plagiarism is Alice's motive and I'm pretty sure by next week, Shane will also be joining the ranks for those who want a Jenny-free world. Jenny's always been a head wrecker but at least in the first season, the writers tried to make her a bit sympathetic. Now, they've given up on that. Aside from Jenny and her power to piss off everyone within breathing distance, I'm not particularly sure if I want to see Helena with Dylan again or Kelly coming between Bette and Tina. Not too fussed about Alice, Tasha and Jamie and the less on Max/Tom, the better as far as I'm concerned.

For the discussion on Home And Away's controversial kissing between Charlie and Joey, things so far have been reasonably tame. Well, all we've seen is them making out and Charlie fighting her attraction. Go on, Charlie, Joey's a step up from anyone else you've been with and if you can make everyone's least favourite resident Colleen look appalled for about five seconds, you'll have done something interesting.

- An upcoming episode of Brothers And Sisters will feature the suggestion of a threesome with Kevin, Scotty and the former's ex boyfriend, Chad (Jason Lewis).

- RTE1 are doing repeats of the first season of Raw, Thursdays at 11.15pm from next week.
