Pop Playlist - Early January 2012
GCN Music Writer Conor Behan picks out some of his favourite tracks of the moment
Here are just a snatch of some of the tunes I'm enjoying at the minute including Tegan & Sara going dance-y again, a pop duo who've already penned hits for huge stars and worked with some big dance acts and some catty fun from Nicki Minaj.
Nervo - We're All No One feat. Steve Aoki & Afrojack : enormous souding dance pop tune that's been bubbling around online for awhile and is set for a release here soon. Nervo are two sisters who've already penned hits for Kelly Rowland/David Guetta, Ke$ha and Kylie now they've gone for chart gold on their own. Likely to be huge in 2012.
Morgan Page feat. Tegan and Sara - Body Work : another big dance tune from two girls not usually known for them. They previously worked with Tiesto and lend their vocals to this thumper by Morgan Page. It's an exhilarting, fast-paced club cut that should do big things.
Steve Aoki feat. Wynter Gordon - Ladi Dadi: as Aoki readies his debut album, Wonderland this is one of the first tracks to surface. An energetic dance number, it's dubstep tinged chorus will lodge in your head for days.
Nicki Minaj -Stupid Hoe: Catty, bratty and catchy diss track from Nicki, serving as a teaser for her new album, due next month.
Little Boots- Shake: she unveiled this one last year and I'm still going back for multiple plays of this slinky, sexy, electro number.
Lana Del Rey - Born To Die: Moody follow up to Video Games that I've been hooked since it first debuted. The video is also a lavish, glossy affair.
