Do You Know Best?
I find nowadays whenever I watch at least five minutes of any reality TV series from MTV nowadays, I go into instinctual grumpy old man mode. One of their latest offerings, Brooke Knows Best is another one that does little for me. Hulk's daughter and her pals all decided to date women because they were going through a dry spell of men. Fine, an experiment's an experiment but while I'm sure some humour was generated from Brooke's surprise reaction when her female date kissed her, I can't help but think that there was something much better I could've been doing with my time.
Somewhat more rewarding was Rupert Everett's two week look into Lord Byron for Channel 4. This wasn't the first time the openly gay actor took a look into a debauched artiste but the two part documentary was certainly illuminating enough on the famous poet and location wise, we got more stuff here to give us a bigger insight.
Having watched some of Alan Carr's Chatty Man in the last few weeks, I can't help but miss The Sunday Night Project. It's not bad but I'm not sure if Alan works quite as well flying solo and it doesn't help that the majority of the guests are people we've seen countless times on The Sunday Night Project as well. Still it does reasonably well for Channel 4 as far as I can tell.

- True Blood has been renewed for a third season (Least.Shocking.News.) and Evan Rachel Wood will be playing a lesbian vampire in the second season's last two episodes.
- No news yet on whether or not Torchwood will be coming back for a fourth season.
- Expect the Syed/Christian storyline on EastEnders to intensify in the next few weeks.
- US viewers will get the third season of Mad Men from August 16th. An airdate over here has yet to be confirmed.
- Family Guy creator Seth Mcfarlane has outed the character of Stewie in a recent interview with Playboy magazine.
- Anthony Cotton wants more gay characters on Corrie. I have to agree to an extent.
