Corrie Stars Party At Manchester Pride
This year’s Manchester Pride parade saw popular soap-opera Coronation Street create history by having its own float for the first time.
Star Antony Cotton, 35, who plays bar man/ knicker-stitcher Sean Tully, organised the
float at the Parade on Saturday. He said: “We decided it would be great for Corrie
to be involved because it is their 25th year and our 50th anniversary year.
“I thought it would be good for us to do a Coronation Street float. We are the
Queens of the Rovers.”
Other stars on the float included Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson (Sophie
Webster and Sian Powers) currently involved in the first-ever lesbian storyline
on the soap, Jenny McAlpine (Fiz Stape), Bev Callard (busty Liz McDonald) seen here sharing a smooch with co-star Kym Marsh.
Sir Ian McKellan, who briefly played conman Mel Hutchwright in Corrie, led the
parade through the streets wearing a T-shirt which said: “Some people are gay,
get over it.”
