A Voice For Newry's LGBT Community

If you are originally from the Newry area, the Newry Rainbow Community would love to hear from you.

The Newry Rainbow Community (NRC) is engaged in an on-going project to help give a voice to local LGBT people of all ages. The recently launched Gay Newry Voices Project intends to document the experiences of LGBT people from the area throughout history to the present day.

The NRC want to hear from any LGBT person from Newry and the surrounding area, or people with a connection past or present to the area. They would like to hear personal stories and experiences and contributors can remain anonymous if they wish. The project will result in a book published in 2012 and the website will provide an ongoing historical record of LGBT experiences in the area.

To contribute to the Gay Newry Voices Project you can contact the NRC by email at nrc@gaynewry.com or telephone the NRC Centre on 028 3025 0528 or you can tell your story online at www.gaynewryvoices.com

Alternatively call in to the NRC Centre, 82a Hill Street, Newry. Hours are 7pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and 2pm to 6pm on Saturdays.
