Live from Oslo
Yes yes I made it to Oslo and have just come from the final dress rehersal for tonight.
Before you all ask, yes Niamh has given singin Bernie Walsh her dress back and she now has a wind machine (though Im pretty sure a ballad with a key change at this contest is oblidged to have one of those by now) - my feeling is she will go through (she will benefit from being sandwiched between two of the more mediocre songs this evening and being one of the more experienced singers here)- if she does I cannot predict her fate on Saturday, but Id hazzard a guess at between 8th and 5th place.
As for the others that stand out tonight, Im still trying to figure out wether or not the Dutch are being ironic, surreal or funny - its your call on that one.
Romania is the catchy one that sticks in your head... not a winner but a healthy slab of camp europop.
Everyone is talking about Azerbaijan. I think its "nice" but overhyped- I say the same of Israel even if he is a cutie! We shall see.
Sweden is pleasent but we all know I have a thing for the Swedes.
Turkey has the best stage show of the night.
