Win J Edgar Tickets!

We have special preview tickets to see Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar to give away!

Clint Eastwood's latest directorial outing, J. Edgar charts the public and closeted private life of one of the most powerful and reviled figures of 20th century America, J. Edgar Hoover.

As the face of law enforcement in America for almost 50 years, Hoover (DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

Instead of going down the route of a solely political biopic, Eastwood chooses to focus on Hoover's long-term relationship with Clyde Tolson, who was written out of the other biopic of the FBI mastermind, The Private Files of J Edgar Hoover (1977).

What we get is a love story between the two men, which humanises Hoover's character, something that is controversial in itself, given his real-life persecution of homosexuals.

With a standout support performance from Armie Hammer (who played the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network) as Tolson and a script from gay writer, Dustin Lance Black (Milk), Hoover is a surprising film that takes its time to explore a life that is usually presented in a two-dimensional, demonised way.

We have ten pairs of tickets to give away to a special preview screening at The Screen in Dublin on Wednesday (Jan 18) at 6.15pm to give away. To be in with a chance to win tell us in the COMMENT SECTION BELOW who your favourite ‘gay for pay' Hollywood performance was. If your faves match up with ours, you'll win!
