What's in a name?
I've been sick the last few days so occupying my bed like a right old state. Until recently I didn't remember about the upcoming elections but now the place is plastered with all their pretty faces and although some are promising the sun , moon and stars, I'm only really interested in one man. He's running in Knocklyon/Tallaght/Firhouse area, well that's at least were his face is .
His name is Pereppadan Baby. I shit you not. Pereppadan Baby or quite possible to be Baby Pereppadan . Either way he's an Indian man who's running as an independent candidate. Can this man really be taken serious if he is elected into the Dail?

I think this is one case where a name change would benefit a person greatly. It did wonders for Reginald Dwight ( Elton John ) and David Robert Hayward-Jones (David Bowie).
But will changing your name from something odd to something mundane make a real difference? I wonder do all the teen mothers today realise that in 20 years their little Daisy with a "zie" and Precious will be the first in line to change their name to Jane.
