US Footballer Suspended For Gay Slur
An American soccer player has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for calling a ball boy a “fucking faggot” during a match.
Houston Dynamo midfielder Colin Clark was censured for an incident which took place during a game against rival team Seattle Sounders FC last week.
Clark used the slur after the ball boy dropped an out-of-bounds throw-in ball it at his feet instead of handing it to him. Touch line mics picked up Clark calling the ball boy a "fucking faggot" before restarting play.
Clark took to Twitter after the game to apologise, posting "I'd like to offer a sincere apology to everyone who watched the game, especially the ball boy for whom I used awful language toward."

Speaking of the decision to ban Clark for three games Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber said in a statement, "Major League Soccer (MLS) will not tolerate this type of behaviour from its players or staff at any time, under any circumstances."
"Colin Clark has expressed sincere remorse for his actions and I believe that he will learn from this incident."
