Bollywood Brokeback Mountain To Pass Censorship

Bollywood director Sanjay Sharma has said he is not worried about the controversial content of his new film,Dunno Y…Na Jaane Kyun, hailed as India’s answer to Brokeback Mountain.

He says he’s unconcerned about showing a “normal relationship” between men on screen. “I’m not afraid of anything. I stand by my convictions.” He also feels that its release in English with subtitles will ease it past the censorship board.

Though details of the film are yet to be released, promotional posters have been published, showing two topless men embracing.

Homosexuality in Bollywood is rare subject matter, with even heterosexual kisses being unusual. However, since the legalisation of homosexuality in the country’s capital in June of last year, depictions of it in the media are becoming more mainstream.
